Jamil was born on February 25, 1986, in Hampstead, London, to a Pakistani mother and Indian mother, Ali Jamil and Shireen Jamil. She revealed in 2015 that he was born with a congenital malformation and labyrinthitis. She had undergone several surgeries to correct it and that she had a 70% hearing loss in his left ear and 50% in his right ear.
